2008 Plans
Here is a partial list of what O³neida and O3neida Europe plan to accomplish in 2008:
- O³neida is co-organising the IEEE-IES INDIN '08 conference in Daejeon, Korea including a special session on 61499 compliance profiles, an industry panel highlighting new developments in distributed industrial automation and several academic papers, not limited, to the above mentioned subjects.
- O³neida is setting the basis for its collaboration in organising the IEEE-IES INDIN'09 conference in Cardiff, Wales.
- O³neida is leading a Working Group developing compliance profiles within the ambit of the IEC 61499 standard.
- O³neida is also leading an effort to examine possibilities for further harmonization between the IEC 61311 and the IEC 61499 standards.
- O³neida members are conducting research in ubiquitous computing applications in embedded systems in a project called 4DIAC
- O³neida has organised a Beta-testing program available to all its industrial members. The IsaGRAF platform, as a first example is being assessed in several research institutions presently.
- O³neida, in partnership with ISA will publish five or more new books in its distributed industrial automation series.
- O3neida Europe is a funded partner in the FP7 project MEDEIA that aims to improve productivity in automation systems design. O3neida Europe invites its industrial members to submit user requirements and use case to this consortium through O3neida Europe.
- O3neida Europe is also creating workgroups around several emerging areas of interest. These include energy management, Health Services delivery over Internet Protocols, and building automation. Contact Antonio Valentini to participate in these new activities.
